PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily peel a measured sample from a die. SOLUTION: Upper and lower dies 11, 14 are provided with heaters 17, 19 for heating a sample and coolers 18, 20 for cooling the dies and the sample after finish of measurement. The lower die 11 is rotationally vibrated by means of a motor, and torque transmitted to the upper die 14 through the sample as a viscoelastic substance sealed in a sample space K is measured for measuring viscoelasticity of the sample. Electric current flowing through the heaters is turned off after measurement is finished, and the coolers 18, 20 are operated for lowing the sample temperature and hardening the sample, so that the sample can be easily peeled off from the dies.
