PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely trace an execution result in a trace range by eliminating a constraint in the trace owing to a control instruction. SOLUTION: On the basis of a comparison result in an address comparison section 14 for comparing in magnitude the value of an execution address (PC) during executing a program with the value of a trace start address (TSR) and the value of a trace end address (TER), a trace control section 15 makes a trace start signal 1d into '1' in the case of TSR<=PC, and makes a trace end signal 1e into '1' in the case of TER<PC. The address comparison section 14 makes a trace permission signal 1a into '1' in the case of TSR<=PC<TER. A controlling processor 16 starts a storage of the execution result to a trace buffer when the trace start signal 1d becomes '1', and continues the storage of the execution result irrespective of an execution of the control instruction so long as the trace permission signal 1a is '1'.
