PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel assembly and a reactor core provided with the fuel assembly preventing a lowering of reactor stop allowance by suppressing a lowering of control rod value in the fuel assembly using a channel box containing combustible poison. SOLUTION: In the case of dividing four side faces of the channel box in to the side faces-facing a control rod and the side faces not facing the control rod, the surface area of a combustible poison-containing member on the side face facing the control rod is made smaller than that of the side face not facing the control rod. Or the quantity or concentration of combustible poison of the combustible poison-containing member on the side face facing the control rod is made smaller than that of the side face not facing the control rod.
