<p>A method of screening a substance specifically inhibiting the non-mevalonate pathway by using an organism which can utilize both of the mevalonate pathway and the non-mevalonate pathway as the pathway for the biosynthesis of isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) and dimethylallyl diphosphate (DMAPP). Thus, it becomes possible to provide a novel method of screening an antimicrobial, a herbicide or an antimaralial capable of specifically inhibiting one of the enzyme reactions on the non-mevalonate pathway for synthesizing IPP and DMAPP.</p> |
