PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the miniaturization of a liquid crystal display panel, by reducing the area of circumscription of liquid crystal display area which laying of wiring and a terminal part occupy, in a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: An input terminal is disposed to face and disposed on both sides of the liquid crystal display area and is set in the liquid crystal display area as a two-layer structure, interposing a insulating layer between a transparent electrode and the laying of wiring The laying of wiring set on both sides of the liquid crystal display area is eliminated, and the width of the liquid crystal display panel is narrowed. For connection with the transparent electrode and the laying of wiring, a method of providing the contact hole in the insulating film interposed in-between or a method of removing the insulating film of the one end of the laying of wiring is adopted. It is applicable to a passive matrix or an active matrix. Furthermore, it can use also for the liquid crystal device of a color display. |
