PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device where spectral transmittance is improved, inversion of the transmittance is suppresses, even for halftone display, the change of chromaticity in a wide visual field angle is suppressed and image display is performed with satisfactory contrast. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with substrates for interposing a liquid crystal layer 1, electrodes for forming pixel region in a matrix shape on the substrates, phase difference plates 2 and 3 and polarizing plated 4 and 5, where the phase difference plated 2 and 3 are biaxial. |
