PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print control system and a method for mixing and outputting (e.g. printing or displaying) a gray image and an edge-reinforced text. SOLUTION: The system is equipped with FIFO memories for continuous tone, bitone, and text selection, a pixel extractor, a video spatch which dispatches text data to the pixel extractor, dispatches image data to the FIFO memory for continuous tone, and receives text selection data and sends the text selection data to the FIFO memory for text selection, an edge reinforcing device which processes text data from the FIFO memory for bitone and outputs edge-reinforced text data, a gray palette which processes image data from the FIFO memory for continuous tone, a modulator which is suitably connected to an output device, and a multiplexer which outputs the edge-reinforced text data sent from the edge reinforcing device, the image data processed by the gray palette, and the text selection data sent from the FIFO memory for text selection to the modulator and makes an output device to mix and output the gray image and edge-reinforced text.
