PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain reliability with reduction of cost and installation space in a multiplex controller. SOLUTION: The multiplex controller device is provided with a process input and output device 4 which is shared with process controllers 1, 2, and 3 multiplexed to calculate a process output signal and in which there are arithmetic unit access controllers 45, 46, and 47 connected with the process controllers 1, 2, and 3 respectively. The multiplexed process controllers execute output operation independently to the arithmetic unit access controllers to each other, at the same time, actual input/output is made to reflect the operation of one of the process controllers, and the process controller input signals representing its sound operation to the arithmetic unit access controller, to other system arithmetic unit access controller, and to other system process controller via mutual communication means 7 among arithmetic unit access controllers by return. Thereby, the soundness of operation of the process controller and the arithmetic unit access controller can be monitored.
