PURPOSE: To realize improvement of color clearness, reduction of color unevenness, clarifying of color separation or the like and consequently to provide a liquid crystal display device, capable of improving color image quality of a display image by preventing generation of moire fringes. CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal display device is characterized, being provided with a liquid crystal display module 16 comprising a liquid crystal layer 15 and a color filter 10 formed between a pair of transparent substrates 2, 3, placed counter posed to each other and a frontlight 24 attached to the front surface of the liquid crystal display module 16 and by having a stripe pattern of the color filter 10 and a stripe pattern 23 of the frontlight 24 which nearly cross orthogonally.
