PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prize competition executing method and a prize competition system by which work required for executing a prize competition can be minimized both on application side and on execution side by utilizing a portable terminal such as portable telephone. SOLUTION: When an applicant performs an application to the prize competition by originating a telephone call from a portable telephone terminal 4, that telephone number is acquired by a transmitting/receiving part 11 and stored in a lottery object person information storage part 12. A lottery number determining part 13 determines the lottery information and password of each of applicants recorded in the lottery object person information storage part 12. A transmitting information preparing part 15 extracts routine mail stored in a routine mail storage part 14 and prepares transmitting mail, with which the lottery number and the password are integrated in this routine mail. The prepared transmitting mail is transmitted through a telephone line 2 and a portable telephone station 3 to the portable telephone terminal 4.
