PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize current consumption of the whole liquid crystal display device by controlling a liquid crystal driving voltage according to ambient temperatures. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device measures an ambient temperature by a temperature measuring means 4 and outputs the measurement result 41 to a control means 3. The control means 3 outputs information for setting the optimal number of boosting steps of a boosting means 22 to a driving means 2 as a control signal 31. The driving means 2 having received the control signal 31 store the information in a storage means 23, sets the number of boosting steps of the boosting means 22 according to the information stored in the storage means, and supplies the driving voltage 21 to a liquid crystal display means 1. When the ambient temperature changes, it is possible to optimize the current consumption of the whole liquid crystal display device by re-setting the number of boosting steps of the boosting means 22 according to the above procedures.
