A palely colored glass having a high transmittance, which has a chemical composition, wherein the glass contains, as coloring components, in wt %, 0.06 % or less of total iron oxides in terms of Fe2O3, 0.5 to 5 ppm of CoO and 0 to 0.45 % of cerium oxide, and the proportion of FeO in terms of Fe2O3 to T- Fe2O3 is 40 % or less, and which has a dominant wave length of 470 to 495 nm at a thickness of 10 mm; and a palely neutral gray-colored or palely bronzed glass having a high transmittance and having a dominant wavelength of 560 to 585 nm.
