PURPOSE: A bank note processing device is provided to prevent the risk of bank-note conveyance errors or bank-note identifying errors by simplifying periodic cleaning or replacement work of the conveyor belt, and to rapidly response bank notes of any country which are of different sizes. CONSTITUTION: The bank note processing device(1) comprises a body(3); a bank-note conveyor belt unit(4) provided inside the body and including a conveyer belt(21), for conveying a bank note inserted from a bank-note input opening(2) along an substantially U-shaped bank-note conveyance passage by the conveyor belt; a bank-note identifying unit(5) provided inside the body, for determining authenticity of the inserted bank note; a bank-note accommodating unit provided inside the body, for accommodating bank notes regarded by the bank-note identifying unit to be genuine bank notes; and a unit box(11), containing the bank-note conveyor belt unit and a bank-note identifying unit and excluding the bank-note accommodating unit, provided in an openable and closeable fashion with respect to the body, so that the conveyor belt facing the side of the bank-note input opening is exposed when the unit box is opened.
