PURPOSE: An adapter used in computer and telephone and using method thereof is provided to use the computer and the telephone connected with an RJ-45 jack together by installing the adapter connected with the computer and the telephone and automatically the installed adapter. CONSTITUTION: An external terminal connecting unit(11) is connected with a LAN cable line led from a communication company. A hub(16) is connected with the LAN cable line through the external terminal connecting unit(11). An RJ-45 jack(17) is connected with a computer or a telephone through the hub(16). A LAN sensing unit(14) senses whether the computer is used through the RJ-45 jack(17). A LAN use display unit(15) displays the sensed state of the LAN sensing unit(14).
