<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance brightness of a display device by improving electron emission efficiency of a thin film electron source. SOLUTION: Electron emitted into a vacuum through a flat metal thin film thinner than 5 nm is irradiated at a fluorescent material. For that purpose, a top electrode for electron emission is reconstructed with a thin film made of Ir, Pt, and Au laminated on it and put through heat treatment so that a thick island-shaped protrusion and a flat thin film part coexist.</p> |
