PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounted planar magnetic element exhibiting superior in thinning, frequency characteristics and reliability in which loss is reduced, inductance is increased and variation of characteristics are suppressed. SOLUTION: The surface-mounted planar magnetic element comprises upper and lower ferrite magnetic films and a planar coil sandwiched between and has no substrate. Holes are made at the coil terminal parts of the upper ferrite magnetic film and external electrodes, conducting with the coil terminal parts through the openings, are formed on the upper ferrite.
