PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera recorder which is capable of easily identifying whether it is a cassette tape dealing with a recording rate of a camera recorder or not. SOLUTION: A cassette loading section 16 disposed for the purpose of loading the cassette tape 31 is provided with an identification display 18 indicating the recording formation of the camera recorder 10 near its cassette loading part 19. As a result, the cassette identification color attached to the lid of the cassette tape and the identification display 18 disposed at the camera recorder 10 may be compared at the time of loading the cassette tape 31 and therefore whether it is a cassette tape dealing with the recording format of the camera recorder 10 or not may be easily identified.
