CHARACTER DISPLAY CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified character display circuit for the SECAM system. SOLUTION: Superimposing an output voltage of a voltage source 15 via a 2nd resistor 12 on a video signal of the SECAM system through the operation of a switch 14 in response to a SECAM character signal can provide a luminance difference to characters from a background image so that visualization of the characters is attained. The superimposition of the output voltage of the voltage source via the 2nd resistor on the video signal of the SECAM system requires none of two kinds of oscillation circuits and their peripheral circuits. Thus, the SECAM system is provided with the simplified character display circuit.
