PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device which prevents degradation in the picture quality due to chromatic aberrations. SOLUTION: A red line 11, a green line 12, and a blue line 13 in an image pickup device 1 are arranged stepwise. Thus the distance from a light source to the light reception face of the red line 11, that to the light reception face of the green line 12, and that to the light reception face of the blue line 13 are different from one another. An unequality LB<LG<LR holds where LR is the distance from the light source to the light reception face of the red line 11 and LG is that to the light reception face of the green line 12 and LB is that to the light reception face of the blue line 13. Therefore the lines of imaging devices corresponding to respective colors are arranged in the image forming positions of respective colors independently of the chromatic aberrations of the lens. Consequently, since the image forming position of each color is on the light reception face of the image pickup device 1 though the image forming position of condensed light is different by the chromatic aberrations of the lens, the resolution of the image pickup device 1 is improved.
