<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent organic film luminescent display easy to pattern the upper electrode in a desired shape without damaging the elements in laser beam machining and easy to manufacture with good productivity at a low cost. SOLUTION: This display is provided with a substrate, a lower electrode formed on the substrate, an organic electroluminescent medium layer including at least a light emitting layer formed on the lower electrode, and an upper electrode formed on the organic electroluminescent medium layer, and uses the overlapped area of the lower electrode, the organic electroluminescent medium layer and the upper electrode as a light emitting element respectively. The upper electrode and the organic electroluminescent medium layer are patterned in a desired shape by laser beam machining. A vapor deposited layer having a melting point lower than the upper electrode is provided at least in the laser beam machined portion between the lower electrode and the organic electroluminescent medium layer.</p> |
