PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation state measuring device for a rotary kiln which accurately and quickly judges whether the ovality and migration of a shell are in normal state or not, by simultaneously measuring as an actual measurement value the difference between the outside diameter of a supporting block and the inside diameter of a tire, and a deviation in length between the shell and the tire. SOLUTION: A base board 12 detachable from the side surface of a tire 7 is provided with a moving plate 17 movable toward a shell 2 side under energizing force. The moving plate 17 is rotatively provided with a roller 21 which can slide on the outer peripheral surface of the shell 2 under the energizing force. A moving amount measuring means 22 which measures the moving amount of the moving plate 17 toward the shell 2 side and a rotational angle measuring means 28 which measures a rotational angle of the roller 21 are provided.
