PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the change in shape of the abrasion surface of a test piece, following the development of abrasion, and to directly digitize the shape information. SOLUTION: In an abrasion test apparatus, the test piece 2 that is held by a driving shaft 3 is rotary-driven at a required slip ratio while pressing its peripheral surface 2a against the peripheral surface of a polishing drum 1, and a laser shape measurement means 4 is installed opposed to the peripheral surface of the test piece 2.
