PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical scanner that the degrees of freedom for the arrangement of a synchronous detecting sensor can be increased by allowing the optical scanner to be miniaturized and allowing a synchronous luminous flux to be reflected in an arbitrary direction. SOLUTION: In the optical scanner, which performs the optical scanning of the surface to be scanned 11 while a deflection luminous flux deflected by a deflector 4 with a deflection reflective surface 5 is condensed as a light spot on a surface to be scanned 11 by a scanning imaging lens 8, a synchronous luminous flux reflection member 9 to separate the luminous flux used for synchronous detection, is provided between the light deflector 4 and the surface to be scanned 11, and the reflected optical flux from a synchronous luminous flux reflecting member 9 passes through at least one scanning imaging lens 8.
