PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium discriminating device capable of optically and exactly discriminating the kind of information recording medium in plural kinds including a CD-R. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a 1st laser diode 3A and a 2nd laser diode 3B respectively ejecting plural light beams having different wavelengths each other, a pickup 3 for respectively receiving the reflection lights of each ejected light beam reflected from an optical disk 1 and outputting detection signals Spu respectively corresponding to the received reflection lights, and a servo IC 9 for discriminating the kind of the optical disk 1 based on a ratio of outputted received signals for each other.
