Apparatus for measuring low oxygen partial pressures comprises sensor, a housing (1) and an amplifier. The sensor is encased by a cylindrical metal or ceramic housing, the cylinder having an interrupted base acting as a gas feed. Preferred Components: The housing material is made from an electrically conducting ceramic or a chromium-, nickel- or chromium-nickel-containing alloy. The base has an electrically conducting metal sieve (9) on its front side which is in electrical contact with the metal housing. The amplifier is provided as an electronic pre-amplifier for the sensor signal within the metal housing.
