A perforated polymer film (2) is covered with a fiber structure (5), and perforations made in the film form capillaries on the side facing away from the fiber structure. During production, the fiber structure is melted leaving the perforation openings on the film side facing the exposed fiber structure. Independent claims are also included for: (a) the production of the laminate in which a film (2) is fed in melted fluid condition to a vacuum perforating unit with a perforated cylinder (3), or band where a fiber structure (5) is applied onto the polymer melt. Hot air from a blower (6) is drawn in the direction of the vacuum source (4), and molten film is sucked by a vacuum towards the cylinder or band to form capillaries in the film. The fiber structure also melts in the areas above the perforations, leaving the latter free on the fiber structure facing side; (b) the use of the laminate in hygiene and medical products and/or areas.
