The system has an oil pump, an oil pipe to supply a hydraulic device (14,17,20) in the oil sump (12), and a regulator (30). This regulates the oil pressure to a level, so that excess oil flows downwards into the oil sump. The regulator has an opening facing a wall (33). The excess oil impact on and/or flows along the wall, to reduce its kinetic energy before reaching the oil sump. The regulator is positioned directly above the oil sump.
