Process for measuring the photometric chemical oxygen requirement of liquid samples (29) comprises placing the sample in a cuvette containing a reagent, closing the cuvette, and investigating the contents of the cuvette for its chemical oxygen requirement using a photometer, optionally after mixing and thermal treatment. Several cuvettes are placed in a holder which is located or inserted in a dosing device so that the cuvettes are filled with liquid samples using a dosing hollow needle (12) by relative movement between it and the holder before the photometric measurement is carried out. An independent claim is also included for the cuvette comprising an upper-side opening and a lid (24) for closing the opening, the lid having a wall (25) with an opening (26) covered with a membrane (27).
