PURPOSE: A direction converting device of a conveyor is provided to transfer articles rectilinearly by converting direction, and to supply the articles to a branch conveyor by moving down with a direction conversion conveyor. CONSTITUTION: A main transfer conveyor(1,2) and a branch transfer conveyor(3) are separated, and a direction conversion guide conveyor(11) is installed between the main transfer conveyors to transfer articles rectilinearly by converting the direction. A direction conversion admission conveyor is installed between the direction conversion guide conveyor and the branch transfer conveyor to input the article promptly. A transfer roller(20) is installed between two supporting plates(21,22), and an individual conveyor(11-1) is mounted between the main transfer conveyors. The transfer roller is turned with a rolling transfer belt(35). The individual conveyor moves the supporting plate up and down. A direction conversion guide roller(30) is installed in a guide unit of an input guide plate(62) and inclined for the direction conversion admission conveyor. A direction conversion guide roller(37) is installed between the transfer rollers, and an input guide supporting plate(61) is inclined and mounted. An incline transfer roller(60) is installed between the input guide plates, and a direction conversion input roller(50) is installed in the end of the input guide plate. The object is transferred to the branch transfer conveyor with transferring rectilinearly or converting the direction by controlling the individual conveyor. The direction conversion device transfers the object promptly by inclining the direction conversion guide roller for the direction conversion admission conveyor and operating the direction conversion input roller individually.
