The variables force and angular velocity are received by an evaluator in the form of electrical signals. The evaluator then determines the angular velocity pertinent to the force or crank angle from the timing of a signal periodically generated during crank rotation. A resistance strain gauge then determines the resultant force by measuring the shear deformation of the crank pin (11). The crank pin is connected with a crank (2) and a pedal axle (7) to generate a force that does not exceed the force required to loosen the connection of the pin with the axle which may lead to the change in the geometric arrangement with respect to the connection with the crank.
