PHOTOCATALYST PURIFIER USING LUMINESCENT DIODE

PURPOSE: A photocatalyst purifier using luminescent diode is provided, which can operate photocatalyst with low energy (3-5V) by coating directly photocatalyst to LED of ultraviolet range and operate even in a space without any power source. The system is excellent in energy efficiency by using spectrum of energy range required to excite hole carrier on photocatalyst and enables to extend life of the product and to be made in smaller size. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises the followings: (i) a power source (10) for supplying direct current (DC) voltage of low energy; (ii) an LED (30) for receiving direct voltage from power source (10) and for radiating light energy of wave length range of ultraviolet ray; and (iii) photocatalyst (60) for receiving ultraviolet ray emitted from LED, absorbing light energy of more than band gap and oxidizing and decomposing pollutant.
