A switching cubicle cooling apparatus is in a cascade circuit with coolant R600a. The apparatus has two circuits (cascades) with three heat exchangers in total. Two heat exchangers, lamella heat exchangers, and the third, which represents the interface between the circuits, is a plate heat exchanger. In the one circuit circulates the coolant R600a and in the other, water or a water/glycol mixture. The coolant liquefier is treated with a special coating for protection against dirt, blockages and corrosion.
