PURPOSE: Clearance preventive structure of a vehicle steering column shaft is provided to prevent clearance between an inner shaft and an outer pipe efficiently in telescoping for a long time. CONSTITUTION: An elastic member(3) is wound around a second outer pipe(2), and the end of the elastic member is inserted to a fitting groove(2b) of the second outer pipe. The other end of the elastic member is inserted to the fitting groove of a first outer pipe. The first outer pipe is turned in the opposite to the second outer pipe with wrenching the elastic member. An inner shaft(1) is inserted between first and second outer pipes, and splines(2a) of first and second outer pipes are contacted to a spline(1a) of the inner shaft. The clearance preventive system prevents the clearance between the spline of the inner shaft and the splines of the first and second outer pipes.
