METHOD FOR GROWING SINGLE CRYSTAL OF BARIUM TITANATE SOLID SOLUTION

PURPOSE: A method is provided which grows single crystal of a barium titanate solid solution by controlling a heat treatment temperature of the barium titanate solid solution so that growth of second abnormal particles is controlled, and a method for growing single crystal of a barium titanate solid solution is provided which lowers manufacturing cost of single crystal and mass-produces single crystal having a solid solution composition using a general heat treatment process without any special equipment. CONSTITUTION: In a method for growing single crystal of a barium titanate solid solution £(BaxM1-x)(TiyN1-y)O3|which has two abnormal particle growth phenomena as the temperature is being increased from more than a liquid phase forming temperature, the method comprises the steps of (a) growing a small number of second abnormal particles by heat treating the barium titanate solid solution at a temperature of the second abnormal particle growth initiation or more; and (b) continuously growing only the small number of second abnormal particles grown in the step (a) by lowering a heat treatment temperature to the temperature of the second abnormal particle growth initiation or less, wherein the method further comprises the step (a) of locally adding a material lowering the temperature of the second abnormal particle growth initiation of the barium titanate solid solution to a formed material of the barium titanate solid solution before the step (a), and second abnormal particles are grown in the locally added part in the step (a) by heat treating at the temperature of second abnormal particle growth initiation or more which is lowered by the added material added in the step (a).
