PURPOSE: A system and a method for generating a file based on a network are provided to prevent the loss of a document by enabling a plurality of client PCs and a facsimile to connect to a file generation server through a communication network, and by transmitting a generated file on the basis of TIF compressed data. CONSTITUTION: A communication network(100) connects communication lines between the unspecified number of the public. A plurality of facsimiles(200) performs a scanning of a document and converts the document into TIF(Tag Image File) compressed data. After that, the facsimiles(200) transmit the data to a file generation server(400) through the communication network(100). A plurality of client PCs(300) receive electronic mails from the file generation server(400). The file generation server(400) transmits the file generated to an electronic mail address searched.
