PURPOSE: A barrier rib structure and PDP having such barrier rib structure is provided to achieve an improved luminance by increasing utilization of ultraviolet light, and improved contrast by reducing reflection luminance of the panel. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a plurality of barrier ribs(270,280) arranged onto a lower substrate(250); a plurality of address electrodes arranged between barrier ribs; and a plurality of scanning electrodes(230) and common electrodes(240) arranged to cross address electrodes. A cell is formed by one address electrode, scanning electrode and one common electrode, and a non-discharge space is formed between cells. A plurality of cells with the non-discharge space formed therebetween, constitutes the plasma display panel. An auxiliary barrier rib(300) coated with a fluorescent material is formed in the non-discharge space formed between cells.
