The optical cell (4) is assembled from segments forming a passage (4') with triangular cross section. Where the beam passes through, the passage is linear and set at right angles to the incident light beam. Preferred features: The side surface of the cell, where the beam enters, is orientated parallel to a notional plane (E), at right angles to the incident beam. The beam continues to refraction at side surfaces of the passage, and thence to an exit surface. This surface occupies an exit plane, which subtends an angle with plane E. The angle is 11[deg]. The triangular passage base, is parallel to a side of the optical cell and to the incident beam. Connecting areas of the optical cell segments, have highly-polished surfaces. To bond them, they are wrung together in deep, optically-flat contact (no intervening material is introduced). The triangular section of the channel is equilateral. Between light source and optical cell, there is a telescope (2) formed by three separate lenses.
