摘要 PURPOSE: An industrial robot is provided to compact the structure of an industrial robot and to perform a precise work by installing a flexible arm in the industrial robot. CONSTITUTION: Upon rotation of a motor(26), the rotational force generated from the motor is transmitted to a ball screw/spline shaft(29) through first and second belt pulleys(27,28). Then, the ball screw/spline shaft rotates and a first ball screw nut(30) linearly moves on the spline shaft. A spline nut(31) and a first housing(38) also move linearly. Thus, a first flexible arm(24) combined with the first housing moves forward and backward to a fixed arm(23). The spline nut performs rotation as well as linear movement, and the rotational movement is transmitted to a second ball screw nut(34) through third and fourth belt pulleys(32,33). Upon rotation of the second ball screw nut, a ball screw shaft(35) fixed in a second flexible arm(25) moves linearly in relation with the second ball screw nut. Thus, the second flexible arm moves forward or backward to the first flexible arm. Since the first and second flexible arms simultaneously move forwardly or backwardly by half the length of the arms, a working zone of the robot is enlarged by three times of the length of the arms.
