PURPOSE: A multiplex asynchronous serial communication device is provided to reduce load of a CPU by accepting various kinds of serial devices by differently defining length of constituents of an asynchronous signal in each transmitting and receiving line, thereby performing reliable message communication. CONSTITUTION: A multiplex asynchronous serial message receiving part(30) successively selects a plurality of receiving lines one by one and reads receiving message control information for receiving messages according to the status of the selected receiving line. A multiplex asynchronous serial message transmitting part(40) successively selects a plurality of transmitting lines one by one and reads transmitting message control information for transmitting messages according to the status of the selected transmitting line. A CPU(20) changes transmitting message control information and receiving message control information an occasion demands, reads and processes the messages received from the multiplex asynchronous serial message receiving part(30), and records transmitting messages at the multiplex asynchronous serial message transmitting part(40).
