Control of the armature's speed of movement is important to ensure a controlled approach, i.e. slow speed, of the armature to the capturing electromagnet, following release from the oppositely positioned electromagnet, and thus to avoid noise and interference. The shape of the reference input variable (x0) is specified in dependency of the detector magnitude (d) such that the armature (10) strikes the capturing electromagnet with a specifiable speed.
