The protective cover has a tubular body of approximately box-shaped cross-section with two opposing wide sides (4,5) and two opposing narrow sides (6,7) whose inner wall on the wide sides has contact surfaces for holding the electric cable (E) between them and a closure device (11) along at least one narrow side formed by latching wall sections. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a protective cover for electric wires.
