The safety operating method evaluates the measured temperature values within the laundry dryer during the drying program, via a temperature sensor (9) associated with the heating device (8), for detecting a deviation from a normal temperature value and/or a normal temperature characteristic and a normal temperature difference, for reversing the operation of the fan (7) supplying the drying air and provision of a warning signal.
