The method involves separating a part of the lake (3) with a dam (1) or other wall, where the separated part does not have inlets of water, or at least not much or not dirty water. The dam has at least one pipe (5), which connects the separated water from the remaining lake (4) and is arranged in the lower part of the dam. Preferably the pipe is in the lower half of the dam. The dam may be made of earth or rubble.
