The Stirling engine has expansion and compression cylinders. Connection paths between the cylinders containing heater, regenerator, and cooler are positioned concentrically around the cylinders. Cooling channels for the working gas extend in the walls of both cylinders. Water cooling simultaneously cools working gas and the cylinder faces of both pistons. Overflow channels for the working gas from one cylinder to the other are located at the lower ends of both cylinders. Both cylinders have identical components for coolers, cylinder liners, piston shafts, and connecting rods.
