Supported polymerization initiation system comprises: (a) component(s) initiating radical polymerization; (b) a support; and optionally (c) regulators which effect the reaction kinetics or product properties. The radical polymerization initiator (a) is selected from an azo compound, a peroxide system or a redox system and is partially in solid, liquid or gaseous. The support can be silica, zeolite, metal oxide, carbon black and/or a salt. The regulators (c) are chosen from a sulfide, mercaptan and/or xanthosulfide, halogen compound or a carbonyl compound.
