The heald return springs on a Jacquard machine are enclosed in a housing (11) at the end of which is fitted a dust excluder through which the heald (7) passes. The dust excluder is preferably a lipped seal (14) attached to the housing (11) to provide an airtight sliding seal. The sealing ring is contained in a cage (17) and can be a fixed or replaceable item. In addition to acting as seal it also removes dust or fly from the heald as it moves through it. |
