<p>A cushion pad 10 for an automobile seat or a mattress has an internal plenum 16 connected to a heat pump 44 through an air inlet duct 42. The bottom and sides of the plenum 16 are covered with an air impervious layer 14. The top of the plenum is covered with an air permeable layer 20. The plenum 16 is formed as a plurality of tubes arranged side by side in a single layer. The walls of the tubes are formed as an open weave of monofilaments 36 so that pressurised conditioned air from the heat pump 44 passing into the plenum 16 through the air inlet duct 42 can pass along the tubes with a relatively low back pressure and transversely through the walls of the tube and through the air permeable layer with a higher back pressure. <IMAGE></p> |
