A filter press (50) has a filter cloth with one sector (12) through which passes fluid, and a peripheral zone (14) which is attached to the filter edge (54). The cloth filtration sector has a mono-filament which is especially different from that of the border. The border zone is manufactured using a multifilament yarn. Both monofilament and multifilament fibres may be woven into the border zone. The multifilaments within the border zone are primarily incorporated on the side facing the filter element (52). The filter cloth has two layers, the lower layer incorporating a strengthened weave (22). The upper layer (24) is the effective filter layer. Also claimed is a manufacturing process for the filter. |
