SKEWERED DUMPLING-LIKE MICROORGANISM CARRIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism carrier which withstands long-term use and lessens the increase of water permeation resistance by deforming and compaction of fixed beds. SOLUTION: Supporting members 4 consisting of disk-shaped objects 3, a multiplicity of which are lined up in parallel at the prescribed intervals and rod-like core materials 2 penetrate the middle of the disk-shaped disks so as to skewer the same and thread-like water permeable members 5 are prepared (a stage (a)) and the many thread-like water permeable members 5 are mounted and mated on these supporting members 4 so as to cover the many thread-like water permeable members 5 (a stage (b)). The thread-like water permeable member 5 are welded and fixed (a stage (c)) to the rod-shaped core members 2 in a part (a) by using a welding machine 7 and thereafter the members are cut by a cutting machine 8 in a part (b) (a stage (d)).
