PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for compounding a rubber composition, capable of stabilizing adhesion development of the rubber composition having high adhesiveness a metal, a high modulus, a high setting resistance and a high heat resistance. SOLUTION: This method for compounding a rubber composition comprises compounding the rubber composition containing 1-100 mass pts. of a raw material rubber crosslinkable with an organic peroxide, 1-100 mass pts. of a polymer containing an organic peroxide crosslinkable epoxy group, 1-10 mass pts. of an organic peroxide and 0.1-15 mass pts. of a 2,4-dimercapto-6-substituted-1,3,5- triazine of the following formula 1 (R is a group selected from the group consisting of a mercapto group, an alkoxy group, a monoalkylamino group, a dialkylamino group, a monocycloalkylamino group, a dicycloalkylamino group and an N-alkyl-N-arylamino group) maintaining the rubber composition at <=140 deg.C throughout the whole process.
